Great Entertainment!

The 14th Annual Acadiana Great Outdoors Expo features awesome entertainment for the entire family!


Watch as Brad Campbell - award-winning retriever dog trainer - demonstrates the amazing abilities of his labradors in a huge, 4,500 gallon water tank, giving you the ability to see the dogs in action!


Robert Ackerman and his deadly TEXAS RATTLESNAKES - recently featured on the hit TV show, America's Got Talent, returns!  Witness his death-defying "Cobra Kiss" and many more heart-stopping exhibitions.





Call 'Em Down Calling Competition

The Louisiana Waterfowl Alliance presents its annual Duck and Goose Calling Competition - Open Call.  Registration takes place Friday and Saturday at the LWA booth located in the Cajundome. 


Divisions in the Duck Category include Adult and Youth.  The Specklebelly Category will have only one division - for both youth and adults.


Don't miss your chance to win! Competition begins Saturday at 3:00pm.





Kids Activities and Contests

This year's Expo has TONS of great activities for the kids.  Don't miss the 30-foot rock climbing wall, catch "the big one" at the catfish pond, and race your friends at the NASCAR RC car track! 


Texas Motor Speedway's interactive NASCAR exhibit is sure to please the youngsters, as they'll play the latest in racing video games and get up close and personal with a real NASCAR!


Saturday is the Academy Sports + Outdoors Kids Day.  Numerous youth competitions will be held including:


Kids Casting Competition - hosted by Iberia B.A.S.S. Club
Archery Competition - hosted by Bayou State Bowhunters Association
Air Gun Shooting Competition - hosted by Acadiana Sportsmen League
Kids in Camo competition - hosted by KXKC.


There will also be youth divisions in the Call ‘Em Down Duck Calling competition, hosted by the Louisiana Waterfowl Alliance. 


Sign up for any of these contests on-site by visiting the host booths inside the cajundome or convention center. 





Big Buck Contest

The 6th Annual Big Buck Contest!  Kerney Sonnier, a certified Boone and Crockett scorer, will score and judge the entries which will be on display for visitors to see and admire.  Great prizes will be awarded on Sunday for first and second place in categories including adult typical and non-typical, youth typical, women’s typical, archery, and out-of-state. (Must be free range white tail deer - closed fence bucks are not eligible)  Mule deer and other species may be scored, but are not eligible for prizes.  Entries will be accepted until noon on Sunday.
